RETFORD HALF MARATHON and DAVE MAIDEN FAMILY FUN RUN
The wait is finally over and we are proud to announce entries to the 2024 Retford Half Marathon and Dave Maiden Family Fun Run are now open. Its sure to be a great event once again.
Exciting news this year is we have a new race director taking control of the event for the first time. Everyone at Retford Athletic Club would like to thank David Corbett for the last 10 years of putting on this fantastic half marathon on behalf of the club.
The main race will start at 10am in front of the Retford Oaks Academy for runners aged 17+. At a bargain price of £32 (£30 for affiliated runners), including booking fee, its great value for money.
The Family Fun Run will start at 10.15am once the main race has been set off and is approximately 2k. Its only £4.25 to enter and is open to children of all ages, although children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. Medals for all finishers.
New for 2024 the finishers mementos will be a commemorative ️ medal, water bottle and drawstring bag.
Are you running a spring marathon such as London, Manchester or Brighton? This would be the perfect warm up race for you. Bone conducting headphones will be allowed at the event for the first time as per UKA policy. Noise cancelling headphones are prohibited and can result in disqualification.

1st male and female + pair of running shoes from Lincolnshire Runner (135)
2nd place male and female + £25 vouchure for Lincolnshire Runner.
3rd place male and female.
Age category winners for U20 M, MV40, MV50, Mv60, MV70.
Age category winners for U20 F, F35, F45, F55, F65.
Team Challenge trophy for the fastest 3 runners from the same company.
Please note only 1 trophy can be won per winner.
1st, 2nd and 3rd place male and female in the fun run.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the cut off time for this event?
The cut off time for this event is 3 hours, after this time we dont have any medical cover and you would be continuing to run at your own risk.
Is there water provided on course?
The are 4 water stations out on course aswell as water at the finish line.
Can i get a refund/defer if i get injured or can no longer make the event?
If you can no longer make the event due to injury then unfortunately we cannot defer or refund you but we do allow you to transfer your place to another runner. please email retfordhalf@gmail.com if you wish to do this.
Can i wear headphones?
This year is the first year we are allowing bone conducting headphones to be worn in accordance to UKA policy. We don't allow any noise cancelling headphones and you can be disqualified if caught running in them.
Will be there a bag drop facility at the event?
Yes, we have a seperate room inside the school to securely store any of your belongings.
Where do i get my bib number?
Your bib number will need to be picked up on the morning of the race.
What is the closing date for the event?
The closing date to enter the half marathon is 3rd March 2024.
