RACES

overview

As an athletic club we are set up to compete. We encourage all our athletes to compete as individuals in the many open events to suit all ages, abilities and disciplines. We list many of these in our events calendar – see below. Membership of our club, (+ UKA registration), normally ensures a discount on race entry fees.

We also enter a number of inter club competitions where we compete against other clubs and for each of these competitions the team manager selects the best team on the day.

Our biggest race event of the year is the Retford Half Marathon which we organise and which attracts about 1000 runners from across the region.

UPDATED: 14/03/2023

We don’t hear about all races so here are a few race meeting websites which might be of interest:

Race-Calendar.com has been set up to help open up access to races around the UK, by offering comprehensive and easily searchable access to race listings without requiring anyone to register with the website - i.e  there are no "hidden" "members only" or "premium" listings on the website.
