Update 31st July 2014

Sherwood Pines Trail Races – one week to go

We hope that all your training is going according to plan and that you are looking forward to the events as much as we are.

With just over one week to go before the Sherwood Pines Trail Races we have been overwhelmed with last minute entries.  As you will appreciate we have to order the T-Shirts in advance to allow for printing and quality control and they will be delivered to us in the next few days.  We hope they will look as good as they do in the photos J

Online entries are due to close this coming weekend and we have decided to continue to accept entries right up to the last minute.  However we cannot guarantee that all entries received from now on can be allocated a T-shirt and so they will have the following options:

  1. If there are any T-shirts left following registration and number collection then these will be offered on a first come first served basis to the later entries.
  2. If T-shirts are not available for the later entries then they will be offered a refund of £3 or any unclaimed refunds will be donated to our chosen charity partners, Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice and Odyssey.

There will be NO “On the Day Entries” available

Race Day Instructions and Arrangements for Race Number and Timing Chip Collection will be issued shortly.

ON THE DAY ENTRIES
We do have over 150 “on the day” places available for both the 10k and 5k race. The on the day entry fee is £11 (non UKA) and £9 (UKA Affiliated). Unfortunately we are only able to provide t-shirts to runners who registered before the day, however we have reduced the on the day price to reflect this. The registration office is due to open at 09.15am. We would encourage on the day entrants to arrive as close to this time as possible to secure their place.

RACE DAY INSTRUCTIONS
Race day instructions are available at
www.retfordac.co.uk/attachments.do?attachment=176&_a=download (MS word) and www.retfordac.co.uk/attachments.do?attachment=177&_a=download (PDF)

SAFETY ADVICE
The weather forecast for Sunday is slightly cooler than of late but still warm and it can get very hot on the trails. Please do take care in the conditions. There is a water station on the route (approx 3.25k) and water at the finish. For the 10k runners there is an additional water station on the route. If you are starting to feel unwell and/or that you may not be able to continue please tell our marshals or the medical personnel who will be on the course route.

RACE NUMBER AND T-SHIRT COLLECTION (for pre-registered entrants)
We are planning to give out t-shirts to all pre-registered runners BEFORE the start of the race on Sunday. The t-shirts will be issued from the registration office (due to open at 09.15am).

: T-shirt Collection (runners entering by post enclosing a self addressed envelope) - If you entered by post and included a self addressed envelope, you should have already received your race number through the post. You will still need to come to the registration centre to collect your t-shirt before the start of the race. We have organised a separate desk in the registration centre for you to collect your t-shirt.

: T-shirt collection (runners entering online (or by post without enclosing a sae) - If you entered online or by post without enclosing a self addressed envelope, you will need to collect your t-shirt when you collect your race number.

Race numbers/t-shirts should be collected from the registration office by 10.45am at the latest. We have allocated t-shirt sizes in line with the size you included on your postal/online registration form. Unfortunately we will not be able to change sizes on the day.

Please leave enough time to collect your t-shirt and to store it ahead of the start of the race (race start time is 11.30am).

Finally, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all runners for taking part in the event and hope you have a great race!
