Following the very successful inaugural year of the new Fell
Running Grand Prix we wish to introduce a couple of changes for the new 2011
year as follows:
There will be an additional "Ultra" category of races being any off road race
over 26 miles long. These races do not need to be in the FRA handbook.
An additional one-off 250 points will be allocated to any athlete who
successfully completes any two day mountain marathon.
In summary therefore:
Athletes can complete in as many fell races as they wish during the season and
must let Charmian know if they wish their performance to be counted.
Scores will be calculated out of a maximum of 1000 points per race adjusted pro
rata in proportion to the winning Gent/Lady on the day.
During the season Jan to Dec the best score in each of the race categories Short
Medium Long and Ultra will count plus one other.

A Category L (Long) race is twelve miles (19.3k) or over

A Category M (Medium) race is six miles (9.6k) and over but under twelve miles
(19.3k)
|
|
A Category S (Short) race is under six miles (9.6k)

In
addition athletes will score 250 points for any two day Mountain Marathon and 10
points for every fell race in which they compete for Retford AC throughout the
season.

ref the proposed trip to the Isle of Man at Easter. There is a chance we might
